Health & Safety

Health, Safety & Wellbeing

At Tiger Scaffolding LTD, the health, safety, and welfare of our workforce, clients, and the public is our highest priority. We are committed to safeguarding everyone who may be affected by our works and to maintaining safe systems of work across all projects

Our approach to health and safety is proactive, structured, and continuously reviewed. We operate in line with current legislation, NASC guidance, and recognised industry best practice, ensuring safety is embedded into every stage of our operations — from planning and design through to delivery on site.

Comprehensive Training & Competence

We operate a comprehensive and ongoing training programme across our workforce to ensure all operatives are competent, qualified, and suitably experienced for their roles.

  • All scaffold operatives are CISRS qualified

  • Advanced Scaffolders are deployed where works demand higher levels of skill and technical competence

  • Site supervisors hold SSSTS or SMSTS certification

  • Training requirements are reviewed on a regular basis

We actively support apprenticeships and vocational progression, allowing individuals new to the industry to develop their skills through a structured pathway - progressing from Labourer to Trainee Scaffolder, Scaffolder, and Advanced Scaffolder.

Ongoing training includes mandatory refresher training to maintain existing qualifications, as well as progression to higher CISRS levels where appropriate. Where applicable, drivers and logistics personnel receive ongoing training to ensure safe operation and compliance with road safety requirements.

Inspection, Reporting & Compliance

We maintain consistently high safety standards through rigorous inspection, reporting, and compliance procedures across all projects.

Scaffolds are inspected in accordance with statutory requirements and industry guidance, ensuring ongoing compliance and safety throughout the duration of the works.

Highest Standards of Reporting

We prepare a full written inspection report for every scaffold, with an accompanying inspection register maintained in line with legal and project requirements. This provides clear traceability, accountability, and transparency for clients and site teams.

All inspections are carried out by competent, fully trained, and qualified inspectors with extensive experience within the scaffolding industry. This ensures inspections are completed accurately, consistently, and in accordance with current legislation and best practice.

Clear scaffold tagging and inspection status systems are used on site, providing immediate reassurance that access equipment has been inspected and is safe to use.

Site Monitoring, Safety Communication & Consultancy Support

Our management team carries out regular site visits and safety inspections to ensure standards are maintained and any issues are addressed promptly.

We actively monitor:

  • Compliance with current legislation and guidance

  • Site conditions and working practices

  • The effectiveness of control measures

Health and safety information is communicated through:

  • Toolbox talks

  • Site briefings

  • Safety alerts and site memos

To further strengthen our health and safety management systems, Tiger Scaffolding LTD is supported by an external Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) consultancy, Neil Walters of Walters EHS Services.

Our HSEQ consultant undertakes regular site visits and audits to review working practices, site conditions, and compliance with current legislation and industry guidance. In addition, training support is provided to reinforce safe systems of work, promote best practice, and ensure operatives remain informed and competent.

This external consultancy support strengthens our internal processes and helps ensure health, safety, environmental, and quality standards are consistently applied and continuously improved across all projects.

Safety Equipment & PPE

Health and safety is paramount to our operation, and we go beyond minimum requirements to protect our workforce and others who may be affected by our works.

We operate a 5-Point PPE Policy, which exceeds the standard requirements of many clients and sites and ensures a consistent, high level of protection across all projects.

Our PPE standards include:

  • High-quality safety helmets suitable for working at height

  • Appropriate eye, hand, and foot protection

  • Mandatory use of tethered tools where required to prevent falling objects

  • Measures to reduce trip hazards and interface risks

  • Regular inspection, maintenance, and testing of PPE and site equipment

All equipment is monitored to ensure it remains fit for purpose and compliant.

Reducing Risk Through Planning & Design

Risk reduction begins at the planning stage. We adopt a structured and considered approach to scaffold planning and design to eliminate or reduce hazards before work starts.

  • Scaffold solutions are planned to suit each project’s specific requirements

  • Designs are produced in line with TG20:21 and relevant standards

  • Complex or non-standard scaffolds are fully designed and assessed

  • Site constraints, loading requirements, and interfaces are carefully considered

This proactive approach allows us to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient scaffold solutions while minimising risk to operatives, clients, and the public.

Our Commitment

Health, safety, and wellbeing are fundamental to the way Tiger Scaffolding LTD operates. Through structured training, competent supervision, robust inspection regimes, clear communication, professional consultancy support, and careful planning, we strive to maintain the highest standards across all projects and to continually improve our safety performance.
